Employed outside India: There has been a slight tweak in the wordings of non-resident clauses. As per the proposed Income Tax bill, 2025 a person who went abroad “for employment outside India” will get the relaxed Indian tax residency clause benefit of 182 days, instead of 60 days. Earlier this phrase was "for the purpose of employment outside India". Experts seek clarity from tax dept about its interpretation.
