Punjab & Sind Bank chief declares war against bad loans

Punjab & Sind bank will also be transferring bad loans worth over five billion rupees to national bad bank which will also help to trim toxic assets. Gross non-performing assets for the bank for the June quarter was at 11.34%, higher compared to its peers. At a system level too, bad loans have been coming down and was at a six-year low of 5.9% in March 2022 which the country's central bank expects to decline further.

HDFC Bank pledges Rs 108 Cr for IISc’s Bagchi-Parthasarathy hospital

IISc is setting up a multi-specialty, not-for-profit, 832-bed hospital, called the Bagchi-Parthasarathy Hospital, along with a PG Medical School within its Bengaluru campus. Govt eyes 'control premium' to part with its stake in IDBI Bank

According to government and stock exchange data reviewed by ET, the government has pumped in ₹27,000 crore into IDBI Bank between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2021. Data show the government acquired 4.5 billion shares in IDBI Bank during this 11-year period. This brings its weighted average cost of acquisition to ₹60 a share.
